Nobody is forced to read this thread so if you don't like it "change the channel!" Don't people have anything better to do with their day besides complain about petty stuff!

The bad heads are mostly from 2012. I have a 2012. My engine has been fine, but I still worry, now having over 43,000 miles on it. So, when head problems threads come up I read them because I have a vested interest in this issue.

haha alright, that escalated quickly...

anyways, the dealership is replacing the head, as we speak, or type, whatever. I was kinda bent, though.
This morning, the service guy calls me cause i forgot to tell him where the lug key is, then tries to get me to pay $100 for an hour of labor, because I have an air compressor installed under the hood, and its going to take the guy extra time to take it out and put it back, to get to the head...I politely told him that its not my choice to have my jeep there, he quickly back tracked and said he would take care of it...i mean, common now...i get a bad head, then they want to charge me an hour of labor for something that took me 20 minutes to install!? if he calls back, im telling him im on my way to move the compressor myself, and see how he likes them apples.

ps. dont be a baby and try to get my post pulled just because youre immature and cant handle a couple knuckle heads joking around. my post is valid.

my jeep has just under 42k miles on it btw

im hoping the new head will also improve my gas mileage, i dont care by how much, any improvement is a win lol

So you had no symptoms that you saw until the warning light went off? Also, do you know when your jeep was built? My 2012 JKU sport with max tow is great so far at just over 44,000 miles. I've even towed my heavy toyhauler for over 5000 of those miles. This included towing at 95 degrees as well as 20 degrees. This whole head issue would have been less stressful if Chrysler would just come out and say exactly what the root cause is and what age/percentage of vehicles may be affected. I'd like to think I'm past the point of concern, but based on your experience it seems not.

Default whats worse is after 100 or 5 years will they even fix it on thier dime?

that would be very alarming if it lasts for a while and then goes on our dime , should be a recall for all jk 2012 early models including mine it ticks but no code so unless it codes they just say normal (not right )

Chrysler needs to make a recall on this Head issue

not just a few isolated heads that were faulty
& not cheap to repair at buyers expense from whats been described
We payed for a vehicle with out faulty heads
(hope they do a recall )

Bad head? Sounds like it could be a teeth issue and improper training.
