Default Increase MPG on stock Jk?

What are some ways to increase my MPG on a stock Jk? no lift and stock 32's. Would it be stupid to get a programmer? Any advice?
Thanks

I tried everything on my 2009 "X" that I could purchase, other than Flashpaq. I am a firm believer that none of the things I did made any significant improvement on the MPG. I know there have been threads where people claim to have made an improvement on their JK's, but not me. Good luck. I just enjoy my JK and don't worry anymore on the gas comsumption.

Keep your speed down on the freeways. My dash shows 10L/100km at 100km/h, 11L/100km at 110km/h and 13L/100km at 120km/h in normal conditions (good pavement, mild temps and no wind.) Doing the calculations, at 120km/h I'm using 30% more gas to go 20% faster. That works out to an extra $3.51/100km in gas based on my last fillup price of mid-grade. Assuming your only goal in improving MPG is to save money, it makes no sense to speed. I drive about 40000km/year right now, so going 20km/h faster would cost me over $1400 extra/year. Since my time is important as well, i am usually doing 110km/h. I'm only using 10% more gas to go 10% faster than the speed limit. It only costs a little over $450/year to go that fast. I am also less likely to get an expensive ticket for speeding.

Of course, any traffic jams or badly timed lights can cost you any savings in MPG or time so you should just buy a Prius if you really care about MPG.

For those who exceed the speed limit, slowing down is the most sure and the cheapest way to increase mpg's.
Of course, most people aren't willing to consider that.

Maintain the oil and filter changes.
Keep it washed and waxed.
Avoid quick starts and stops.
Avoid roads with alot of stop signs and lights.
Avoid letting it sit and idle for long periods.
