intermitant squeaking from rear end. any ideas?
I have had a squeak in the rear end for some time now. Not one that squeaks over a bump, but one just when you start to move. We thought it was brake pads, as that's what it sounds like, but we replaced them, and its still there. Could it be a bearing going south? or a seal getting ready to die in the axle?
Any thoughts would be a great help. It's driving me NUTS!

Maybe a bent axle flange. Put it up on Jack stands and see if the wheel wobbles while turning it slowly. It only takes a little side to side movement for the brake pads to chirp on the rotor.

it would go squeak, squeak squeak then, it does not do that . its more like a long one then stop for a bit, then again....like that.

Could your driveshaft need greasing? I know that at least some / most (?) aftermarket shafts need periodic greasing or they'll squeak. Mark Doiron mentions it in one of his latest Utah trip videos (the 1st or 2nd one, I think).

E brake hung up?
Check to see after driving a while is the wheel hot? This was the source of mine, cable was seized on the interface point under the rotor. Little PB blaster all good

This may help....couldn't find this link before:

The leaver is connected to you e cable that runs though the back plate. The lever on my was the little rascal that was seized
Release the parking break and follow the e cable into the backer plate....it should have a bit give, if it's tight yours could be seized like mine.
I know include a little lube on these levers when I do my break maintenance
