Default JKU Door Surround Differences 07-09 10-14

Does anyone know the difference in the soft top door surrounds? I drive a '14 and am looking at some older door surrounds but all the Mopar ones I find all say 07-09 like this:

I just want to know, are they different?

07-09 soft tops have a plastic lip that tucks into the door surrounds. 2010 tops use a cable that lays in a groove in the door surrounds to seal the top. So you have to use the same vintage of top with its door surrounds, you cant mix and match.

I have an additional question on the door surrounds. Will the cable top fit snug on the non-cable door surrounds? Has anyone found the little plastic piece to add to the older non-cable door surround to make it compatible with the cable soft top? I’d rather not replace all the door surrounds because of this piece of plastic that Jeep added. You can see the original tooling PNs in the door surround. They just pounded the gutter piece in and stamped another PN on the surround. Pretty ingenious.

Your gonna have to get new surrounds. They are not compatible with each other.

You can pull the plastic piece out. It is just stapled in. I have new style surrounds with and old style top. Hope this helps

It does. I just need to make or buy the L-shaped plastic parts. I knew they were just fastened into the old door surrounds.

Has anyone uncovered the MOPAR PN for these pieces? Maybe other people could purchase these and use newer cable soft-tops with old retrofitted door surrounds. It could save a bunch of money.

@moljeski - do you still have your pieces you pulled out? Is there a PN anywhere?
