Pay attention to the financing as well. The total cost is more than just the sales price.
Ask to see the call back - this is what the bank sends to the dealer with the rate etc.
Ask about the Participation (it's on the call back ) - this is where the dealer writes the contract at a higher APR than what the bank is offering. The bank and the dealer then split that extra profit.
If there is participation, see if you can get them to drop it.
Dropping your APR by 1% will make a big difference in the long run.
If you can get a pre approved blank cheque before hand, that can help as well. You will have a good starting point that they can try and beat.

You should get 1% below invoice. Any more than and your doing it wrong. Msrp really means nothing. Join treadlightly for the discount. Truecar will give you the price with the options you want.
