Default My fix for the soft top door handle leak

Picked up a used 07 soft top for my 08 JKU (came with hard top). I expected some leaks but the door handle leaks were out of control. Tried about 4 different kinds of weatherstripping with no luck. Figured I'd try one more before giving up.

I grabbed the stuff below from home cheapo and tried it out the night a big storm was supposed to hit.

It's supposed to be pulled into two separate strips but I opted to keep them together and applied them as shown below on both front door surrounds. I made sure the stripping was tucked behind the rear mucket seal and in front of the front mucket seal.

I then applied the strips to the rear door surrounds as shown below.

Woke up to dry door handles and no drips whatsoever inside the Jeep after very heavy rain. I went ahead and superglued the strips in place (except where they contact the mucket seals) so they'll stay attached to the door surrounds when I throw the hard top back on for the winter.

Hopefully this helps some people who are suffering the dreaded door drips. Let me know if you need any other pics and I'll post em up.
