i don't think so. Some of them are pretty thin, and they are supposed to bond to your internal parts. Like marvel mystery oil. I've used that in several cars and had pretty good results.

Just put a blue bottle of STP Oil treatment in there. I've been doing that to all mine for years. No problems on this end.

Had these and turbo timers on my built VWs/Audis worked perfectly when trying to 'prime' or circulate oil after a hot shutdown.

Next time you change your oil, substitute 1 quart of Slick 50 for one quart of oil. The Slick 50 will leave a thin film on the moving parts of the engine which will eliminate the cold start issues. I've used it on many vehicles.

Personally, I am not a fan of oil additives. I use Amsoil synthetic oil along with one of their filters and have not noticed any dry start knock. I currently use the 5w20.

The computer won't let the Jeep start if the gas is held wide open so by cranking and not firing will get some of that oil up top before the engine starts. Every time I do this I don't get a dry start knock...not the best solution but still better then dry starting.
I've never had this "dry start knock" issue, but just tried the above and it WORKS!
