I'm still a bit confused...I had an oil change about 2500k ago and it tells me to change the oil now...does it need to be reset or something?
Does it have a sensor that tells the computer that the oil has been changed?

No, it has to be manually reset every time you do an oil change. I can't remember the button sequence to press, but I'm pretty sure it's in the online owner's manual (as I recall, it was a combination of key turning and accelerator pedal, but I don't remember the exact steps).

This^^^^.

Turn the key to accessory (lights on the dash lit, but engine not started), then push the gas pedal in and let it out slowly 3 times (within 10 seconds), and then turn it all the way off. Then start the Jeep and go about your day.

Thanx! Just when u turn it all the way off, do u remove the key? Last, will there be a beep or a flash or something to indicate that it's been reset?

No flash to let you know.
The warning just goes away.
I pump the gas two times then on the third hold it for 10 seconds.

Anyone know if it resets the clock if you do the sequence when the light is not on?

When I've done oil changes before the light came on, the key sequence did reset the monitor.

This is correct. The reset is unrelated to the light.
