I've been using a Rokform case for my iphone for a couple years now. It comes with a magnetic base that can be mounted anywhere. Of course the case has a magnet built in and will stick to other metal objects. Holds my phone upright or horizontal even while bouncing around on the trail. Picked mine up for about $30

I had used this thread as part my search when looking for a new camera/phone mount and wanted to updated everyone that it seems OutbackEngineering.com is no longer in business. All emails go unanswered and the phone # on the website is disconnected.

DIY I did myself. Easy to used for maps, music and not in my eye line while I'm driving. Ran a long USB cable through a hole I dremiled in the back of the cubby, and used a $14 magnetic mount that 3m taped upside down with the metal plate glued to the back of the phone case.

Look at proclip USA. I have it in my 2011. No rattle, easily adjustable

Another vote for RAM mounts.
I've got them on everything and have used them for years. They can handle the constant abuse and vibrations that make cheaper mounting systems loosen up and rattle. I use them for phone, GPS, radios, cameras, satellite messengers, you name it, in vehicles as well as on ATV handlebars, bikes, and a boat.
There are a zillion mounting options for the basic, 1" ball base, onto which you can mount a zillion different brackets and devices.
I've got the outback engineering double mount on the dash, but this is what I use most for my phone:

This is the phone mount I use, bought for about $10 at autozone. Personally, I prefer this sort of flexible/magnetic setup. Mounted in place with the existing 7mm bolt through a drilled hole in the suction cup base. I also drilled a hole to run an extra lightning cable from the back of my Raxiom head unit.
