Default 255K 07' JKU Sahara

I just turned 255k on the JKU Sahara. Living in SE Louisiana I've replaced all the front end steering and suspension once and brakes 3 times. Radiator replaced 179,000 thermostat and housing @ 220,000. She eats 1qt oil every 4k miles and purrs like a big cat. If she makes 500k I'm dropping the LS4 and 6 spd auto tranny from Searchers in BR LA. Love my JK!

53,000 no problems. Recently added CD2 to oil in order to attempt to keep seals in good condition. Did this because I've read about the 3.8 having severe oil leak and consumption problems. So tried to stave off the first problem, don't believe it can hurt.

My last jeep a 07 unlimited X had 124,000 miles on it when I traded it in and no problems at all with engine, did not use or burn oil. But I did start to wonder how long it would last so I decided to trade it in one a new 2dr sport, but it is still kicking somewhere in NE ohio.

My '08 JKU runs strong... 112k on the ticker. It also BURNS oil like it is it's job. Bought it in '11 from a local Jeep dealer with about 22k. I went to 5W-30 and that seemed to help some...(for comparison, my '72 monte didn't even use that much oil..haha) something else i just noticed after giving 'ol Hank a tune up, is that someone FUBAR-ed the threads on the #5 plug. Now since im the 2nd owner, and it had factory plugs, either it was someone at the dealership, or the 1st owner, but why be messing with plugs at 20k? Probably like that since manufacture, I guess. I DID get the new plug in with some finesse, but it won't be coming back out. 😳

This article seems to be completely misunderstanding the thread.

The number of votes isn't for when your engine died, its just how many miles are on your engine. And then post if you had issues. The vast majority have not.

Very misleading.
