rattling on start up
Just wondering if anybody else has this
I have a 2012 jk sport, 3.6
On start up after sitting all night i start the jeep up. Normally it idles around 1000 rpms and slowly works its way down to factory specs
as the rpms drop slowly, it sounds like i have a bicycle bell under the hood....like a heat shield or something vibrated loose
once the jeep is warm it goes away at idle, but then as i give it gas and get into that rpm range its there again.
Wondering if anybody else has a similiar issue?
The jeep is going in for service in a week (grease, oil, tire rotation etc..) i mentioned this to the service guys to look at it....but id love to give them a direction to go if i can
Also i have what seems to be dry starts....first 3 seconds of start up its alot of valve train noise. Is this normal?
Jeep has been dealer maintained since day 1, only has 37k miles on it

Heat shield or maybe even exhaust manifold. I noticed mine went bad when I would hear it on cold starts and then go away once the JK reached optimal temp. It's doubtful since you have the low miles but worth a look.
