Rear brake pads, is this a joke?

You mean like when you buy a new printer with a cartridge that only lasts about 20 pages!?

Quick update, I contacted Chrysler and they agree on paying for the caliper. I sent them receipt, that is nice but honestly I believe that broken caliper caused this first place. Oh well... Just keep you eyes on these skimpy brake pads on Jeep rear. I am fine for another year or so, after this I might replace this Jeep with something more Germany made

I am curious as to how many of the people running into issues/short lifespan with their rear brakes still have the hill start assist turned on on their jeeps. I checked mine yesterday and still have quite a bit of pad left and I am almost at 40k miles on my 2012 jku. I turned off the hill start assist feature day one, when I realized the rears were slow to release every single time I came to a complete stop...

Anyone else have thoughts on this??

So how did you turn it off?

I have never heard of it being turned off before.
You may be onto something here

On my '12 it is an option on the personal settings menu on the dash. From what I understand earlier years require the steering wheel dance to disable it. I have no idea on the newer models...

If you have the EVIC buttons on the steering wheel, left side push menu, go to personal
Settings. Find HSA ( hill start assist ) opt for off. I turned mine off about 4 months after
I bought my 13 JKU Auto the Jeep drives way better. IDK before it felt like there was a
Drag to it......

Just read this thread and went and turned mine off on my 2012 JKU auto. Anxious to see if there's a difference in the morning. In what ways did it make the drive better? Thanks.
