My optimism may be short lived.

White smoke from the tail pipe... Now what? Mind you it is also winter and 10 degrees out. It could just me normal, I'm not putting out smoke screens.

Feel like I should just start considering making moves to trade it in while it still seems ok.

I can't tell if it's making strange noises or its normal. So paranoid now I hear everything.

That looks like normal steam from a cold engine on a cold day. Did it do it after warming up? Burning engine oil has a blue tinge to its smoke. And would likely be a lot thicker than that.

Mine smokes like that all the time, no worries. Make an audio of the engine running and post it up here, we'll tell you if it sounds normal.
