Do they really snap that often?

I've not broken a belt in my 10 with 145k miles but since I've replaced it I do take it with me for off-road trips. I replaced it due to maintenance schedule, no usual chunking, splits, or cracks.

Yea I'm at 107k and it says replace at 120 but I'm doing a bunch of it now like belts and upper and lower hoses. They all look pretty solid for 107k but just some preventive maintenance. Just did the PCV valve too and scratching my head wondering if I should do some o2 sensors in the process.

Sensors are a funny thing and I'm sticking with "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".....and I broke a harness on one during the clutch install- just a foolish mistake.

No... but it's cheap insurance to me. Back in the older 4x4 days I carried fan belts too, but it seems like serpentine belts last longer.

The '11 JK is now at 73K miles. When I check the oil level I usually inspect the serpentine belt. I purchased a Goodyear Gatorback belt for when it comes time to replace.

Yea I think Chrysler has some spec that it's allowed to have a certain number of cracks per inch. I think if it's cracking anywhere it should just be replaced.
