Default So my axle is bent....I think.

So I was in an accident a couple of months ago. Nothing crazy, just hit my rear wheel. I came out unscathed but did have to replace my rear axle shafts. No other issues to speak of and since my deductible is $1k and my shafts were less than that, I just fixed it myself.

Fast forward to today. I put on some some quick discos. Drivers side fine, passenger side(where I was hit) the bottom end link mount is bent. It's clearly visibly bent. I'll try to get a pic later but it's 4000 degrees outside but I guess I never noticed it until the sway bar end links were off.

The Jeep rides on a D30 and 35s. Been off road 3 times...in south Florida so nothing extreme some mud, small hills, and trails (super mild).

I'm thinking about seeing if insurance will foot the bill for a new axle. Or can I just get a sway bar tab re welded? Any thoughts? Is this going to be a game changer?

You find a good welder they'll cut that sucker off and weld a new one right on! As for the insurance company, well the worst they can say is "no" so give it a try

Thanks all. I'll try my giant crescent this week. Here's the pics. And yes, I cleaned the grease off the zerks!

While it would be cool to get a new axle, with my son as a new driver, I don't need my insurance moving any more! Click image for larger version

Turn it in! Then take the check and spring for a d44!

does not look bad enough to mess with and how most look on the dealers lot. I have had two new wranglers and that is about how they look unless I am missing it.

Agreed! I was expecting worse. If you can still get your discos off - then just leave it.

Thanks all. I can get the discos on and off easily. Just making sure it won't shred some secondary or tertiary part!
