Default wife wants smoother ride

Wife is complaining that her 12 JKU wobbles a lot when going over speed bumps or hitting any kind of bumps at a slow speed. Can I just install new shocks to solve the problem or will it require more than that? Also I know its pretty disrespectful to jeep for them to be lowered but she wants to drop it just enough to get in easier but not enough to be noticeable, maybe an inch or inch and a half max. any suggestions?

There's nothing wrong with adding higher quality shocks to what you've already got, just check the collapsed and extended measurements against what's already on the vehicle.

Instead of lowering it, why not get her some trick steps to make it easier to get into? Amp research sells a nice step that won't compromise ride quality.

Are you at stock height now? Could always run tire pressure at 22 psi, what i do.

If it's kind of a wallow, like jello, going over bumps at slow speed -- Suggest new/different shocks. Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sport's are what's on mine.

Presuming it's stock, I would not lower it. Could end up with the same, or different issues. If it's a new Jeep, tell her that the springs will sag a little with time -- She will probably get used to it before that happens, and want a lift...

Default rancho adjustable shocks

they improved my ride 100 % from stock ones , then you can fine tune the shocks for plush ride or stiffer handling . these shocks were byfar best improvement i made .

you can get smaller tires 31 " height that will drop it lower for her
you could prob get stock 225 tires for next to nothing off a sport jeep i think they are 29" in height course people want them gone as soon as they buy a jeep with them on , they were on a 2011 sport i had and you get great gas mileage with them though .( pic of my old 2011 with them below )
if you order these shocks make sure you get the ones for stock height
jeep no lift

I run Fox and they really tightened up the ride...they eliminated the swaying back and forth.

It may be the springs.

Sell the Jeep and buy her a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee. It sounds like she wants a car-Jeep. They have them. The Wrangler is obviously a poor choice of vehicles for her.

Haha. Back in the early 90's we had a loaded minivan because they were still cool and we had a young family. Then SUVs became popular. My wife wanted to keep up with her friends so I bought her a 1993 Ford Explorer. After about 6 months she started to complain about the ride. So I then asked her what she wanted to drive and she said "Remember that minivan we sold..."
Now life is good. She has the BMW car, I have the JKU.

I would also vote for you to try an adjustable shock, like the 9000xl and see if you can dial it in to her tastw .
