tailgate handle
hey does anyone know how to take the rear tailgate handle off and replace it? ive looked thought the two rubber gromit things which is where the bolts would be but the locking mechanism blocks all of the access. any help would be aprieciated. PICTURES would be very nice indeed.

You may have to pull the locking mech off, the color coded tabs on them slide to the side to release the metal rods. Once you remove the rods, you can take the bolts out of the latch then you can get to the handle nuts.

Forget the two rubber plugs and the latch assy. Go to the black vent screen to the left of the two rubber plugs. Carefully pry the left side of the vent screen up and remove. Look inside to the right. Remove the two rod clips off the handle assembly and then remove the two 8 mm(5/16'') nuts off the back of the old handle and pull off the gate. 5 minutes tops....
