Very True! We install full complete lifts in 5 hours to spec with two jack stands and a 6ton floor jack.... Between the six of us we have installed over 50 lifts I'm guessing and did everyone of them for free. But normal going rate out here in the mid Atlantic area is about $500. From the great fab shops. Not to mention $250/$300 to regear each axle and warranty the work for 90 days.

Not expensive at all, that's sounds about the going rate. It's a five hour job tops to remove and add everything... Springs, shocks, trackbar's, swaybay frot disco's, rear end links, exhaust spacers/ or y pipe, sector brace, and other couple odds and ends.

And upgraded yokes and flange. The kit also included a a bottom transmission skid plate.

Maybe a little more work than a basic 4 inch short arm bolt on.
Extended break lines added and bleed - 90 mins tops for all 4, steering stabilizer I'd give you 40 mins tops, you must have some serious over head going.

I should probably add that 6 of us install lifts for our entire group. Two guys on any lift 5 hours tops.

Not here to split hair but yes our over head is high. For perception I went up to check out my uncles new fab shop in Victorville. He has 12000 square feet in the middle of the desert and he pays 1/5 of the rent we do and had 5 times more space. It's A beautiful work space. Ask him what he charges to do a lift and all the stuff and he was about what you guys are suggesting for a lift. Around 1000.00 for the lift gearing brakes all the extras. Basic lifts about 600.00. He struggles to get that because of the economy up there. Plus the people that would want to do that level of work are not going to drive 130 miles. It took me 4 hours to drive through LA traffic up the hill to get to his shop. I left about 10 pm and it only took 2 hours to get home.

No what we charge on our labor just depends on the amount of work and due to our overhead it has to be a little more. Everywhere on the westside in LA is more expensive. It's the nature of the area. From gas to food to rent to even parking.

My old condo in Costa Mesa was over by Rebel off road and it was half of what I Pay here in Marina and the same square footage. Only reason why I sucked it up and moved because I was spending 4 hours a day in traffic. Now with not spending 800.00 a month in gas the difference was only a few hundred dollars plus the time I got back.

Now I'm not saying if you drive around and out to some areas there are shop that are struggling that won't give you a smoking deal.

I drive out to hooper for the rear end work because there about 700.00 less than some mechanic shop I know here on the west side.

On a 4 inch lift I would be around 650-750 which is what we charge for a day of labor considering where we are. But depending on the add on and upgrades it may take a few days but we normally flat rate out labor. We rarely charge for every hour we work on a vehicle we normally flat rate the jobs to be fair. Like we have said from the get go if your ever in the area feel free to stop by and check us out and have a conversation with us or shoot us a call.
