Deer Stand

I'm wanting to build an elevated box blind for deer hunting. I was wondering if anyone had done this and had any pics or advice.

Are you going to build it in a tree or will you be using some sort of uprights to hold it up?

In a tree, I usually run some joists, lay down some plywood, and hang some sides on it. Sometimes I will put a roof, but I usually don't bother.

When there are no trees, I will do the same thing, but use some landscaping timbers as uprights.

I will be building a platform since there are no trees. I plan on building a 4x6 box with 12 foot plat form. I just have to build it light enough to put together when I get there.
