Default Cb radio static

Can anyone tell me if there are any filters i can put on my 2008 rubi that will cut down on the cb radio static when the engine is running? I can here the electric fuel pump running and i can here other things running also, maybe the ecm. I know a few years back they could a filter on the fuel pump on police cars to cut down on the static noise

Run the power wire from the CB direct to the Battery.

check your ground location, isolate it by itself ie not grounded with other items...and check the routing of your power, is there another way you can run it further away from the engine, or ?? those are some 'common' causes of static interference or engine noise problems, I'm sure there are a ton more reasons why, but it's a good place to start....I could have sworn I saw some electronic doo-dads that claim to clean static up, but I'm not very familiar with any of them and can't comment...good luck

Also run the ground to the battery as well....

Some have had success with ferrite cores and noise supressors, I have yet to find any that work for me..

dont waste your money on suppressors or filters. You are just putting a band-aid on the problem. if you have double checked your ground and power wires then look over the area where your coaxial cable runs through your jeep (you are using a coaxial right). Although their outer shielding is a noise blocker, a strong current in adjacent wires can cause standing waves which can cause distortion and reduce antenna efficiency. A good symptom of this would be your SWR (standing wave ratio). Check your SWR while your Jeep is running and when it is off and compare the difference. If there is a change in SWR the problem lies in your antenna cabling, not your power wires.

Also, is there a difference in sound from car completely off and when the key is turned on but not started? Your fuel pump kicks on with your key before your engine starts and if that is where your noise is coming from proper shielding could help.
