Default HELP! Need 6.25" OPAQUE Covers for PIAA 520's!

Well, I just got a nice little ticket for not having opaque covers on my PIAA 520's... The cop was nice enough to check "no" under the "correctible, (y/n)" option, which I believe means I can't just get it checked off, and that I'll have to pay upwards of $150 for the violation. I kind of knew the PIAA rock guard covers didn't really block out all light, so I realize it's my fault, but cmon. Oh well, it is what it is.

Anyway, does anyone know of any solid light covers that will fit these lights? I suppose I could cut some rubber or something that I could use in conjunction with the existing covers as a last resort, but I'm hoping someone makes real covers that'll fit. It needs to fit a 6.25" diameter. Oddly enough, I haven't found any other lights that come in 6.25", so I'm stumped.

Thanks guys!

http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Lighting-Jee...4243&t_pl=2770 this is a sponsor, right?

I have seen people use these and spray paint over them with black paint to cover the KC emblem. The backs are stretchy like sweat pants waist band. Getto I know, but it actually doesnt look bad. I think it would work.

Cool, thanks man. Guess I'll go with that. Man, it's a shame becuase I love the look of the covers on the PIAA's. Anyway, here's my setup: 2 PIAA 520 ATP's on the windshield and 2 PIAA 520 Ion Crysal Fogs on an MBRP light hoop. For me, it's the perfect combo. You get the spread of the fogs (95 degree spread) to illuminate the sides of the trail, and the longer distance and super brightness of the ATP's (40 degree spread). Combined with my IPF headlights from Northridge 4X4 it's the perfect rig for my after work, late Friday night camping excursions.

Sorry, this is the best pic I have of it right now:

Default Found PIAA Opaque Covers!

I found these hard covers made by PIAA for their 40 series lights, which I've discovered have the EXACT same dimensions as the 520 series: http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Lighting-Jee...&t_pn=PIA44010. Hopefully they work out, and I think they'll look great. I'm picking them up in-store on Saturday. Will report back with my thoughts as to the fitment, etc., and will post pics.

Also stumbled upon this handy security kit to protect the $450+ worth of lights I'm running: http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Lighting-Jee...&t_pn=PIA30092.

Update: The PIAA opaque covers, though apparently the same dimensions, definitely are not. Not to worry though, I just broke out the Dremel and now they fit!

Overall, very happy with the look and function.

I also bought the PIAA bolt locks, and they didn't have enough clearance for either the bull bar lights or the windshield lights. Oh well...

Man that sucks! What state are you in? U run the exact same setup including headlights lol, and have never been pulled over for the rock guards. Of course I don't use the lights on road unless its a backroad and I feel good about nobody being around

California. The CHP officers here love to pull people over for little vehicle code violations like that.

Nice! How do you like the setup? I couldn't be happier.

I never run the lights on road, and wasn't at the time I was pulled over. Just wrong place/wrong time. Oh well. I got a court date in August (yes, August!) so I'll report back on how it goes. I figure I have nothing to lose trying to avoid a fine.

Just a thought: my boyfriend used that spraypaint for plastic, and color matched his after they got crappy. Then handpainted the PIAA back in with black.

I'm very happy with the lights as well. As far as court I imagine that as long as you show them that the lights are covered you will be fine. If nothing else tell them you didn't know the rock guards were a violation
