Default My New Sub & Amp Pics

Just installed a Diamond Audio D3 10" Sub in a sealed box.
It replaced my factory sub and what a differance it makes!!!
Mounted the box to the factory studs to keep it from being stolden with the top down.
It won't come out unless you take the speaker out and unbolt it from the inside.
Also installed Diamond Audio D3 400watt X 1 Amp under the driver seat.

The amp runs off the speaker level.

I really wanted to remove the factory amp but don't know if it is possible.

Does anybody know how to wire an aftermarket amp to the sub signal output?

Which speaker level output are you using?

If you are feeding the new sub amp from the old JK sub output then it should already be a low pass signal below 200Hz or so. This is the best you would get until you started replacing all the OEM bits.

The way to confirm this is by putting a full range 3 way speaker on the stock sub output. If you get a muddled sound with no highs or weak mids then it's a dedicated sub speaker level output.

For mine I'm adding 2 MTX Thunder4500 T4510-04 's in a standard box along with a Memphis 16-MC250D Mono Sub Amp.

I plan to make it removable for golf trips and such. Hope to have it done by March 5th. Gotta wait on eBay for the box. Hate to pay retail these days!.

The amp receives its signal from a LINE OUTPUT CONVERTER ( turns speaker output into RCA input signal ).

The converter is after the factory sub amp. I wanted to remove the factory sub amp but am not sure how to wire it.

The same was said about my '99 Grand Cherokee, could not remove the seperate factory amp under the rear seat even with a aftermarket head unit and factory stock speakers + aftermarket amp & sub.

This doesn't seem right to me but when I look at the stereo output pin out I don't see where the factory amp is wired at.

this is the best looking setup i've seen. looks like it could be stock, too. there's a couple other people that have tried "stock" looks, but imo failed miserably :X

It all comes down to wiring. If you do not make a connection to the speakers from the deck you will not get music. What you need to do is find the input and output for each speaker at the amp. From there you can cut and splice the wires so that the amp is no longer a unit in the system you are running. I would not suggest this on a stock system, but when you run an aftermarket headunit this is the way to get it done son.

that looks great, and i don't know a lot about that speaker, but that looks like an awful lot of space for a 10"? i had a box that looked about that big inside my rear seat with a pair of tens in it...
