    Default Fab help

    I have to put some 4" holes in some 3/16 plate steel. They ned to be clean holes. What does one suggest I use?

    Hole saw, used it to cut out holes in my corners for led tail lights.

    A high def plasma can be pretty clean but a water jet or lazer would be alot better. Some places can punch as large as four inches but I imagine it would have to be a huge machine to do 3/16"

    a machine shop could mill the holes out with ease...water jet would be ideal. if you are doing this in your garage , a hole saw would be ok

    Just get one for metal and make sure the bit is straight, spray a little wd40 and you will be good.

    Also don't go full blast with the drill, go about half trigger at a steady pace and let the hole saw do the work. Hole will come out perfect
