Here is what I would worry about. Assuming you keep it far enough from your Jeep to not light it on fire, you are stuck with really hot coals or at least a really hot grill for a while. If you are wheeling, you need to account for the time it will take to get back to the trails as I wouldn't think you would want to head out until it cooled off. If that isn't a concern, it is a really fun idea!

THAT'S what I'm talking about!!!! I am not sure if my JK would pull that, but I guarantee my 1989 Grand Wagoneer would pull it. I started looking for propane tanks yesterday and pulled up a big goose egg. There are a few places south of here that may have old, out-dated tanks but I bet one of those will go for $400 or more for a 500-gallon tank.

Heres mine just a small grill for some burgers and dogs on the beach. It slides in the front of the cooler basket and comes off sits beside cooler in travel mode. Everything I built out of aluminum and tig welded but the grill its self it came from lowes for around $80.

I would look into grills made for boats. They have have some swing out designs that could be early modified for mounting.

A 50 gallon drum cut in half is pretty popular for a bbq. I'm sure if you looked hard enough you could find one for really cheap if not free that didn't house some kind of deadly chemical.

This is our prototype so far. Hope to field test at the beach this weekend Still have a lot of work to do, but keep running into "what ifs", so I figured we will test it to get more ideas. Will definitely post finished pics when done.
