Default Stubby-Fied RR XHD Rear Bumper

I have had this bumper on 2 different JK's. I have really been wanting a stubby rear bumper. Since I already had the Rugged Ridge bumper.......... hmmmmmmm. Cut it!!

Here is what it looks like pre cut

Tape layout of cut

Ends gone via reciprocating saw

Mocking up template with cardboard for the returns

I used the excess from the removed ends and welded them up

Hit them with a little duplicolor bedliner. Ran out of daylight, will do the driver side tomorrow. I think it turned out great!! I like it.

They are only really good for show. Maybe they will keep down the scratches, but thats about it. There will be armor there eventually. I just have other things on the build list first.

You did a great job on that! It looks awesome.

How do you have the jerry can mounts attached to the RR tire carrier?

I welded up 1.5" square tube with a base plate, drilled carrier and bolted them on. I also added some more bracing behind the tire. You can see how they mount up.

Dang, that looks great! I have the same bumper. I may have to invest in a welder and do that one day.

Wow the finished product turned out great! Definitely looks like RR should have made it like that!
