Default UK to the South of France

We owned a 1997 TJ (2.5 petrol Sport) in the UK for about five years and then sold it to a friend who was taking it to Zambia. My wife missed the blue Jeep and a few months ago decided she wanted to have more respect on the road and wished for a Jeep Wrangler again. Stalling a little she then purchased later a 2007 JKU Sport Unlimited, of course fitted with the infamous 2.8 diesel version which was a great improvement over the old 2.5 petrol engine. Although a 2007 model it was first registered in June 2009 so considered to be just three years old now. We took it recently on an 1,800 mile journey from England via Portsmouth, Saint Malo to St Tropez in the south of France. The stock Jeep was fabulous to drive especially in the hills and narrow lanes off the beaten track. Even motorway cruising was cool - doing comfortable 80mph although we did miss an A/C in the hotter parts of France. We camped along the way and received many compliments and envious looks along the route we drove. Now I need to convince my wife to upgrade certain parts of the JKU........
