2012 Jeep Order Status - 2
There was already a 2012 Jeep Order Status thread, but it got off topic and was closed. Let's keep this one to just those folks like myself who are just super impatient and need a place to vent about the anxiety of waiting!

2012 Rubicon 2dr Crush Orange
Ordered: April 16, 2012
1st Email: April 18 - 7:31am CST
2nd Email: April 24 - 7:31am CST
"Paint" on VOTS: May 7
"Final Inspection": May 8 (Jeep completed build and went into storeage on May 8th)
3rd Email: May 29 - 7:30am CST (Jeep has officially shipped. Been sitting in storage built for 21 days. 35 days after 2nd email.)
Ordered: April 16, 2012
1st Email: April 18 - 7:31am CST
2nd Email: April 24 - 7:31am CST
"Paint" on VOTS: May 7
"Final Inspection": May 8 (Jeep completed build and went into storeage on May 8th)
3rd Email: May 29 - 7:30am CST (Jeep has officially shipped. Been sitting in storage built for 21 days. 35 days after 2nd email.)

As great as that sounded, I was highly skeptical. I then called then back and spoke to another representative. The second representative told me it was in D1 status (gateline schedule - scheduled to be built) 
As disappointing as that was, it was much more realistic sounding. She had no further ETA.
Edit: After laughing about the inconsistency, my wife decided to call too and see what she got as a response. She got someone that was able to provide much more detail and this time they provided a delivery ETA of May 7th. Sounds great, but who knows!

If/when you order a Jeep, the dealer should take down your contact information, including email and provide that on the vehicle order to Chrysler. Then Jeep will send a series of three emails throughout the production process to keep you (loosely) informed of the vehicle build process. The second of these emails includes the VIN number. Once you get the VIN, you can call Chrysler customer support and typically get more detailed information on your order status. This is covered in more detail here.

My wife, who initially was in no way interested in the Jeep purchase, took it upon herself to call customer service again today. Was again told they have a May 7th estimated delivery date for our Jeep. That would be great, but I'm not holding my breath!
On the plus side, I think the wife is slowly getting Jeep fever!

hi: I'm going to guess you ordered to get exactly what you wanted right? I may consider that but I'm seeing a lot of jeeps in stock at dealers and they're discounting them (at least they're advertising discounting them, not sure what games may come up when sitting down signing papers).

I guess that's why you see so many folks ordering.
