    Default Chrysler and Jeep ??

I keep reading about how Chrysler is doing poorly and will shut down it's plants for 2 weeks this summer and that if things don't change soon there are major problems ahead.

My question is - does this news include Jeep?

Is the Jeep plant shutting down for 2 weeks as well?

Most plants have a short period of time that they close to retool for the model year, but Chrysler has been talking of shutting down almost all operations for 2 weeksbut they have said it's to give everyone a couple weeks off due to teh tough times they been having. I actually think this sounds like a great idea, it's good for employee morale and think about it, many other countries/businesses close for a period of time every year to allow for all employees to take a rest and it has nothing to do about business being bad.

Chryco is in trouble and Wall Street is getting nervious about the results of a downturn in the economy on their business.

Not good news at all, and it is not rumor.

I wonder if the Jeep dealers will be left alone to fend for themselves, or if they will get rolled into the local Dodge/Chryco dealership more aggressively.

I do not relish the thought of talking to a service manager with plaid pants in colors not known to nature about a problem and knowing they understand NOTHING about Jeeps.

If this happens, this isn't like the employees are getting a free, 2 week paid vacation. If the plants shut down for 2 weeks, they don't get paid for that time. I don't think that'll do wonders for employee morale.
