    Default Cruise installed upside down?

Instead of posting a new thread, I thought I'd post here. I just recently purchased an 09 Wrangler X. The previous owner added cruise control. It seems to work fine but the control was installed on the left side, upside down. It's driving me crazy. Is this an easy fix?

    Thumbs up

For anyone thinking of installing this simple mod. I have a complete OEM Mopar set up in the for sale section. Sold my JK before installing and still in packages.

I picked up a 2010 Sport last week, and the cruise control arrived from jeepsareus yesterday....thank you for the indepth description and pics for this install, I will attempt this today....I will try to bend a cheap flat head screw driver to remove the air bag, that seems to be the only issue, the rest is looking easy...thanks again!

WOW! 30 minutes flat, and it works GREAT! Heated an old flat head screw driver with the propane tank and bent it into the right angle, Dremel'd off the handle, BINGO, off came the airbag...followed your instructions to the letter and soon I was cruising...love the "cruise light" on the dash...
Many, MANY thanks for posting the info!!!!

Add me to the list of successful cruise control installers! My advice to others, if you purchased the new cowl already, then go ahead and cut the old one off by any means available. This was by far the most time consuming and difficult part of the whole installation. After cutting my old cowl off, then it made sense how it comes off. But I don't think I would have got it off in a million years without cutting it off. For only $7.00, save yourself some gray hair and buy the new cowling and rip that old one off!!

    Default Horn Switch Fix

Thank you for this thread!!! I'm going to use it to replace my horn switch/harness. The dealer just quoted me $252 to fix it. SCREW THAT! I wish I would have found this thread earlier. Now I have to pay $60 to get my Jeep out of the stealership. Oh Well. I'm still going to be saving over $120!

    Thanks Everyone - especially OoPEZoO!

I did this a week ago and it worked great, but I just had my airbag light come on a couple times on the way home. Has this happened to anybody else? Any ideas what I should do? Thanks.

Nevermind. I did some more searching on the site and saw that there seem to be loads of people having problems with the clockspring. Chrysler has issued a recall for 2007 models to fix the issue. Unfortunately, I have a 2008, so I'll have to wait and see if they extend it to other model years.
