Default Any one have problems with mounting bilstein 5100 shocks.

I'm just curious if anyone had a problem with their bilstein 5100 upper mounting rod being just to short to add both rubber bushes and washer? I had to cut the top rubber bushing in half to get enough space for the nut to catch. I check the length compare to the old shock and there was a noticeable difference, plus the instruction for the 5100 not the best with having multiple applications. There way I'm enjoying the ride huge difference just hoping that the bushing doesn't fall apart.

It was a tight fit, actually took two people---one to push up on the shock and one to hold the nut and turn the allen wrench from the top. You shouldnt have had to cut any of the bushing, but if you did, you did lol. Shouldnt be an issue, just keep an eye on it and see how it holds up.

Was your sway bar disconnected? I got the ones rock krawler recommended for their 2.5" and billstein says the ones I got are one size too long but I had plenty of room with sway bar links removed. The front coils were a sob though.

I had this problem! I ended up using the stock rubber bushings with mine cuz no way were the ones that came with the 5100s gonna work!
Also on my 12 accessing the top nut on passenger side is a challenge.
