Rig Donkey

My jeep is my dd and I go muffing ab 3-4 times a year with LA 4x4. I want to go with 35x12.5 mud terrains, but the ones that I want are nearly $400 a piece. Does anyone run these or know somebody that does who can give some first hand opinions? I've read many great reviews and many terrible reviews. Thanks for your help

any one running wildpeaks with some insight? they are just so cheap and quality, i dont see why you would pass them up. for someone who uses their jeep as a DD, im thinking these would rock in a 35 with e load range.

i have less than 2k miles on my 37s but they are nice tires, so much smoothers than my old DC mud countrys. The DC's were obviously much better in the mud but i hit more rocks than mud now

I was very unimpressed with the wildpeaks in mud. Ditched mine for Pitbull Rocker Radials with no regrets.

yea they are def not the tire for mud hence the a/t rating, not m/t.

Last year on the 2011 JK Experience I saw these tires do very well on various terrains (but not mud) and I was very impressed by them.

Yep, what Rancho says. I have done three JKX's with rigs that ran them. They do surprisingly well in rocks for such a tame looking tread pattern. I will add though, their sidewalls are not the strongest, I have helped to changed out several of the Wildpeaks on the trail for the spare. But again, these tires were in terrain that was fairly demanding and they actually held up longer than expected.

I assumed their incredibly high weight was because of some sort of increased side wall protection. Where the hell is the weight then! 77lbs for a 35!

I have been running 315/75R16 Wildpeaks on my JKUR for almost 2 years. My Jeep is a daily driver, so I went with AT tires instead of MT. I have put almost 40K miles on them and there is only minor chunking and a lot of tread left. They suck in mud, but that is to be expected. On everything else I have been on in the So Cal desert and mountains, they have been good. I have not had them in snow, though. They are great in the rain, too. I would definately consider running them if I get AT tires again. The tread will easily make 60K miles, and I would not be surprised if it went to 70K. I rotate them every 5K miles, and I am sure that helps with the tread life.
