    Default Painted facotry fenders

I am getting tired of my factory fenders turning that nasty grey color. I have a black jeep and I am thinking about painting them a gloss black. Just like the Sahara fenders. I also want to paint my factory rear bumper till I get my aftermarket one. What do yall think? Has anyone done this? Any pics?

I had my fenders sprayed with Line-x bed liner( i didnt care for the paint tone sahara fenders) if you scratch them the black plastic would show through. Over a year later and the line-x is still good and black.

i have a Sahara now so mine are painted. would i paint the regular flares? sure.

like Roeanoke i think the line-x is a great idea. i had Warn flares on my last YJ and had them rhino lined back in 1998. i was very pleased with how it turned out and how well it held up.

when i sold that jeep in '03 they were faded a bit but still looked good. there were a few spots on the underside that had flaked off from contact with some 35" swampers but that kind of stuff is expected.

My Sahara has the factory painted fenders and I love them. They look WAY better than they grey puke ones. If you're going to paint them I'd just make sure you find a gloss that matches.

I don't think I would ever want my bumpers to be like though. Just use lots of Back to Black.

Yeah i wont paint the rear bummper, but I think I am going with a gloss black. If I scuff it, big deal ill just re spray it.

I have a Silver Sahara unlimited lifted with 35,s

I just ordered the Flat Bushwacker flares before the rebate ends, final price $385.
Anyway I think Black fenders of any kind look cheep on silver, I will be sanding and painting them to match, I was on the fence for a month on this discision, hope I have no regrets.

I may sell the Sahara flares once i get the new ones on, what are they worth?

Have you thought anymore about selling your silver sahara fenders. I have been trying to find some on the forum to buy. I am going to go with the full silver look. Find some silver fenders, get my oem step bars painted silver as well as possibly the front and back bumpers as well as trim. If your willing to sell let me know please.

I use instant detailer on mine every time I wash my Jeep and mine haven't even started to turn grey. I use it on the whole Jeep every time I wash it in between waxing. It keeps the paint like glass and the plastic black.

Another trick is to use the spray on tire shine. Be careful not to spray your paint. I use it on mine and it last for about a week. I spray the center of the fender and then spray my rag. It works pretty good.
