    Default Battery Light Problem

Hey everyone I was hoping to get some help with a problem here it is:

I installed the dual battery kit with the smart isolator. Now when I turn the jeep on the battery light comes on and stays on the entire time the jeep is running. I checked both batteries and they are holding a charge. The only time I can get the light to go out is after I have been driving for with the light on, I stop for a short time and then start the jeep again. Then the light never comes on. I checked the wiring and I can't see anything wrong.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Dan

    Hey Dan,

Just got your voicemail (I'm in LV at SEMA).

What's the battery voltage on with the Jeep running?

I have one of those cheap meters that has lights at 5v 12v 12.5v 13v 13.5v and 14v. When the Jeep is running both batteries are register the highest 14.0v

Chances are it's the jeep reading it as a OVER VOLTAGE..not a low voltage condition..

    Default Idk

I thought about that but then why does the light not come on when the jeep is restarted after running for awhile. I would think that would be when both batteries are fully charged and combined?

So what was the resolution here? I may have a similar situation. I have an auxiliary battery with a no-name battery isolator from Pep Boys. It ran fine for a year, but over the past several months I've noticed the voltage creeping up. It now sits at 15.1 to 15.4 volts going down the expressway, and every once in a while I'll get an overvoltage fault, when it fluctuates over 16 volts. The auxiliary battery checked out fine. Any ideas before I'm forced to make a trip to the dealer?
