I had been looking for grab handles, and pukingover the cost of the commercial options, when I read German's solution on this board. I liked the solution a lot, but wanted a nicer handle.
After much googling for grab handles, I found handles on the website of Chesapeake Light Craft, a wooden kayak kit manufacturer. It's now been moved to the top of the page. I paid $6.50 per handle for two handles, plus $6.00 shipping, for a total cost of $19.00. I ordered the handles online on Sunday, and they arrived today via USPS.

I followed German's directions for installation of the handles, and they look great! They really look like they came from the factory. Best of all, I ended up with two handles for less than some of the vendors are asking for one.![]()
