I believe the iphone has two moisture sensors, one in bottom port and one in the headphone port. If those get "tripped", there is no coming back.

IMO, inching the front end over the blind drop @ Dragon's Tail on Hell's Revenge or getting tippy across Devil's Crack on the Moab Rim (in the dark no less, lol!) is "Jeepin"; I only ford water when I have to.
