Are you not afraid of compressor water damage?

The Viair compressor appears to be sealed up very well, I can't imagine any water getting in. The only weak spot I could see might be where the wiring enters the motor but it is sealed well. I have driven it thru a couple of fairly deep water crossings with no ill effects yet. Now if I let it sit submurged for a prolong period that may be a different story.

Anyone else have any issues with a compressor mounted like this?

How about where it draws in air? I'm guessing water could get in there. And if it kicked on while you were actually IN water...

How do you bleed down the air tank and release the condensation when it's inside that skid plate?

I like the design, but that question just occured to me.

No worries there; the intake is plumbed to a filter that is mounted behind the tail light.

OK here's my setup..

First having the tank or compressor exposed to the elements was not a option. I did not want either to have the potential to get damaged by weather or off-roading. Second it could not take away from the amount of usable cargo interior space from the inside of the JK. And last of all it could not obstruct the ability for me to switch between the hard top and the soft or any functionality of either. So this is what I came up with....
