Use this weatherstripping from Lowes, pull all factory foam weather stripping off except for what you can see in the pics. Cut weather stripping to fit spots where foam was. Put a piece if DUCT TAPE where the rubber flange meets the door sill guard. Also put a piece in the door jam area. Works like a charm. Rained here a tons last month not one leak!!

You guys might think the duct tape is funny but the shit works (so does electric tape)! It is ten times easier to change a small piece of tape then let your Jeep sit at some stealership for days while they contemplate like idiots on new ways to try and fix a bad design.

I think the duct tape is a great idea. As long as the surface is smooth and prepped right, it'll stay there a WHILE.

What exactly does the duct tape or electrical tape help with after the new stripping is in?

theroy is that junction the (the cup seal) is a know culprit for water build up, then the drip right on the door handles. the tape is to overlap that seal. another option is to apply silicone under that flap and on the edge of it.

I'm going to my stealership tomorrow to get a dent out of my BRAND NEW JK that we didn't noticed until we brought it home...

Going to ask them if they can order me a 2010 soft top because my 2009 soft top leaks all onto the seats and mats when sitting out in the rain. And the back panels are bent outwards and dont sit flush on the rear window...hopefully they aren't total d-bags about it.

If they don't want to do that...then I will definitely give this a try!
