Engine Clicking? WTF!
I have an 07' jk and ever since i bought it my engine makes this clicking or tapping noise only when i accelerate. Not if i rev the rpms in neutral. not if im at a steady speed or slowing down. I don't get it? and it drives me insane! The mechanics dont hear it because they wont take it for a ride? Has anyone had this issue or am i the only one dealing with this bs?

You might have an engine compartment heat shield touching under acceleration. A true engine oil and or clearance issue interally in the engine usually is a constant noise, wether under load or revving up with no load...

I have a tick but it isn't loud at all. In fact it's common in almost every car I've driven. If the tick is really loud and you can hear it over the radio then you might have a problem. Could be valve issues or like mentioned before the heat shield.

Topher8668: Is is a standard or automatic and what grade of gas do you use?
I had a standard (not a Jeep) and was putting 89 Octane in, obviously years ago when prices were lower. It would knock but only under power and in specific RPM ranges in each gear. The owners manual stated 87 Octane. When I switched back to 87 the knock went away.
