Attention all 2012 Wrangler owners with Remote Start and Auto Temp Control......

I have a 2012 arctic(1 week old) and have tried this twice and nothing is happening for me!! I will def post if something changes.

2012 Sahara here picked up last week does not do it. It will however activate the defroster light for a while if on auto (also running the a/c compressor as is normal) but no a/c light comes on.

Picked up my 2012 Sahara Unlimited on December 10th. I can confirm the issue as well. It is only happening when using the remote start option. I've tried several different scenarios - it doesn't matter if I have it set to auto, or if I specify a temperature and fan speed. A few times the AC light has illuminated after inserting the key as well. Not that it's a huge deal, but when winter sets in it will be nice to not worry about it. Hopefully a fix will be released soon.

The AC light comes on because it goes into auto to defrost your windows. It doesnt bother me at all leave the temp on hot. Autostart your car even if the AC light comes on the air will be hot.

You could very well be right. Know here in WY with a wet snow & high humidity with the heat & defrost on high can still have trouble defogging windows. Turn on the AC with the heat, humidity drops & foggy windows clear up.

Hey guys.. I have started and answered to many threads on this topic. I have been going back and forth with this issue for months with Chrysler. They are in the process of doing readings on my hvac control head to find out what the problem is.. Those of you who stated that your new 2012 DOES NOT have this issue at all.. be cautious because this issue only occurs when the temp outside is above 50.. I live in Jersey and its been cold here.. the issue is not there.. And to answer the other question about the defrost.. that is not what I am referring to. I understand that the A/C will kick on when left on and using remote start.. I understand that sometimes if needed the A/C will come on with defrost when remote started to clear out the moisture. However.. the orange A/C light should not come on in the case when... IT needs to come on to remove moisture.. it doest let you know.. especially on autotemp and autofan function.. The light would be coming on and off like crazy.. MY issue and the issue of others is.. lets say its 57 degrees out i have my heat on 78 fan speed 2, duct direction on floor.. I remote start.. vehicle beeps and starts... as soon as I open up the drivers side door.. the orange a/c light illuminates!.. and it never turns off.. I have to turn it off every time.. no matter what fan speed or temp or even duct control setting. I could even put it on Auto Duct setting.. the light goes off .. and as soon as i select one of the other duct settings.. it comes back on.. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY an issue.. don't be fooled or bullied by your dealer.. I was told several times this was normal.. and was given no explanation.. Until I finally was told in fact it WAS NOT normal and that my dealer wanted my Jeep in for computer testing, so they can get a fix in the works. So if anyone has any questions or would like the Chrysler # to call.. please Private message me.. The more people that make Chrysler aware the faster the fix.

I just checked mine. 2012 JKUR, auto start, auto temp, built 11/11. The AC light does not come on during remote start, opening the door or turning the key to start. Outside temp was 57*. I tried it a few times, and got the same results each time.

Ac acts as a dehumidifier. I don't mind here in WV.
