bikini, trek top NX or supertop NX help me decide
Looking at getting one of these still undecided. I have a hard top and want to have the top off as much as possible. Here in STL rains often at anytime . Was thinking just getting bikini and duster for the summer but then would need header channel and door surrounds to keep the rain out also. Like the cost and look of trek top nx but then read that it doesnt drop completly down like a soft top. So then looked at supertop nx which cost the most. If i go with supertop should i get the window storage bag also. I just cant decide which way to go. I want to be able to easily have something on or off that keeps rain out. Any advice

Well, I recently went through this. I was about to pull the trigger on the Trektop NX because of the costs and the looks. The only thing is that the top will not fold all the way back on the fly. You actually have to disassemble it and take it off to have the full open affect. Otherwise you will have a safari top with a sunroof. Also, from all the research I did, it is hard to carry the quarter windows with you if you have a 2 door because they have a hard plastic support that makes them hard to roll up and put away. So if you get caught in a storm, your seats are gonna get wet. Decided its not what I wanted.
Instead I got a used factory OEM soft top for around $200 on craigslist. Now it takes me about 5 minutes max to fold the top all the way back.. I have dirty dog mesh shades hooked to the roll cage so that I don't get cooked in the sun, and I can still can see perfectly fine out the top. Also, the mesh doesn't interfere with the soft top or hard top. If I get caught in a storm I just zip in my quarter windows. I leave my rear window zipped in and just roll it up. I love my current setup. Fast and effective.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking for used factory tops for a while and they all seem to be about $500+ in my area. He cheaper ones are usually missing somethjng from the hardware or the windows. I can get the supertop nx for $864 shipped so not much more.

I would go for the supertop then! The only reason I didn't get it is I was hurting for some money, lol. So I was lucky to find one on craigs list. Its not brand spanking new, and there is some scratches on the windows, but it was worth at least $400. I did have to replace the plastic header with a metal one because of wind noise, so that cost me another $150. But $350 total invested on a factory top is still a great deal in my book. The only drawback, if very little, is that you have to assemble the whole soft top on the supertop. With the factory top you just screw in 4 screws and the top is attached to the jeep, seriously that is all there is too it. Oh, of course you have to put the headers around the doors, maybe another 2 minutes and 4 bolts, lol.

completely agree with this. I actually bought the Trektop NX and then found it it did not come off as easily or completely as I expected. I had the original Trektop on my TJ and was able to quickly take that one off and expected this one to work the same. I currently am buying a used factory top(got it cheap from a friend) and trying to sell my NX (only used it for 2 months last summer).

there is a used top from an 2011 on craigslist this morning. Guy wants $800. I ended up purchasing a new supertop nx yesterday for $864 with free shipping. Then added the window storage bag also. Bag will be delivered today and the top tomorrow. Probably going to put it on this weekend. Decided bikini wasnt enough protection daily with the storms we get here looked at trektop nx and wife hates the look and wasnt as easy to drop down completly. So went with supertop nx since price was about same as used in my area l.
