I started with 14/55 and went up to 17/58 and got about 1 1/4" in the back and 1 1/2" in the front. It was pretty noticeable, and well worth the $50. Took my and my buddy about 4 hours to change them and the shocks out.

So you went up 3 numbers in both the front and back and got nearly equal results front and back. That sounds promising. That's what I'm looking for. Anyone else have similar results? For some reason I was under the impression that the rear lift was usually less, but maybe that's because most people go up more numbers in the front than back.

I finally scored some replacement shocks (Rubicon take-offs = cheap mods!) And will be doing the swap this weekend. I will post pics and stance measurements before & after.

I just switched this weekend. I got a used set of JKU Rubi coils and shocks off of ebay. I got a noticeable amount of lift, and the ride is stiffer but in a good way. This mod is definately worth it if your stock coils are low and you can find a deal. I went from 12/13 front 55reat to 18 front 59 rear.
Before/After/After(the lift is much more noticeable with my new tires 265/70/17)

I did adjust the pinion angle. I installed rear UCA's and it was easy. My rear springs did bulge a little to the rear due to the rotating of the rear axle, but that was almost totally eliminated by the wedges I installed.

Sorry this took so long to relay. I was not following the thread.

I just changed out the front and rear springs on my 2011 2-dr. Rubicon. I don't have any heavy bumpers or other heavy accessoies. My stock springs were #14 front and #57 rear. I use my Jeep for towing, so I wanted slightly firmer springs, and I was looking for equal an equal height increase front and rear, since a little rake is good for towing. The springs I selected were #16 front and #59 rear--so 2 numbers higher at each end. I ended up with 3/4" height increase in the front and 1/2" in the rear--not quite equal, but close enough. The ride is slightly firmer, but still nice. I'm glad I didn't go any heavier on the front springs, as I think they would be too firm. The one thing that surprised me was that while the front 16's were longer than the 14's, the rear 59's were actually a bit shorter than my 57's.

I already had 1.5" coil spacers in the front and 1" in the rear, and longer front sway bar links, which I left in place. So my total front lift is now at 2.25" and rear at 1.5". The Jeep still seems to sit a little higher in the back, which is what I wanted for towing. Overall happy with the results. I'm probably right on the line where I could go to longer shocks or shock extensions. For now I will run with the stock Rubi shocks, but I may change to Bilsteins down the road, since I had them on a previous JK and was quite happy with them.

I went from a 16/57 setup to 18/59 and gained an inch in the front and a half inch on the rear...damn happy.

Default The question is...

So my question is: is there a difference in the spring constant/rate for the 44xx springs and the 42xx springs? In other words, will the 4458 (which I assume to be the same length as the 4258) have the same spring rate as the 4258 spring? It seems that two door JKs come with the 42xx springs and the 4-door unlimited comes with 44xx springs. This makes me think they may have different spring rates due to the weight differences of the two models. Anyone out there know?

Default Newbie Question

I tried to read most of this thread, trying to skip over the posts that were just listing measurements. I have an 07 Wrangler X with 13/54 springs and I plan to swap to the 18/59 springs and Rubi shocks I picked up off a 2012 Rubicon Unlimited. I also plan to do the 9/16 bolt upgrade to my control arms and track bar at the same time and was also considering the teraflex cam bolt washer kit. I read a few posts about bulging rear springs and pinion angles and I am wondering if I will need to additional suspension changes besides having an alignment done after install. Also I am running stock 255/75/17 Rubicon wheels tires. I do not have adjustable control arms, so are the cam bolt washers a good/bad idea or will I need an adjustable cam bolt? I dont have the cash for adjustable control arms right away.

Thanks for any help!
