soft top install?????

Well, Im a newbie to the Jeep world as of May this year when I lost my Jeep virginity.....lol
I got both tops and want top install the soft top.The dicks at the dealership want to charge me to show me how its done.
I can find vids on how to put it up & down , but nothing on how to install from the point of removing the hard top.
Sorry for the newb question.
Any links or help would be appreciated.

The install is very easy so don't let it intimidate you. I bought my soft top off of Craigslist so I didn't have any real idea how it connected so I went to the dealership and looked at a new jeep. Mounting was a no brainer as there are just two bolts on each side of the roll cage under the cover of the roll bar, just unzip to exposit the bolt holes. You will appreciate a helper but I change mine alone. The only problem I had was the side windows and understanding how the leading edge connected at the door opening, so that was what I went to the dealership to see. I just walked out to a jeep like I was shopping and opened it and saw what I needed to see. Of course a happy salesman came running out to sell me a new Jeep but I just told him what I was looking at and he allowed me to look all I wanted.

Taking your time it will take a little more than an hour. Put the top out in the sun for an hour or so to soften it up (yes it does make a difference. It will be tight the first time you close it.

Wow - they are dicks!

I just did this today after running no top all summer.

You have the dual top option? If so, you will have a set of brackets (left-right) on the diagonal section of the roll bar. The brackets have two holes on them.

You use these four screws:

to attach the to the four bracket heads that are at the ends of the internal support frame for the top. I have a Unlimited, so it's a little different shape than the 2-door. But on the Unlimited the lower bracket holes attach the bracket that frames the rear window and the upper holes support the frame bracket that sits above the passenger doors. And, yes, you can install the the frame supports backwards.

Once you get the supports attached to bracket, the owners manual will cover the rest.
