Another Report of a ‘Jumping Jeep’ at Car Wash

Well, it looks like Jeep is back in the news again for another odd “jumping Jeep” occurrence.
Although Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) appears to be vehemently denying the claims of “jumping Jeeps,” some car wash owners are saying certain Grand Cherokees are prone to suddenly accelerate on their own.
The claim of the SUVs’ unpredictable bouts of acceleration has led one car wash owner in California to require that all Grand Cherokees are manned when going through car washes, according to a Consumer Affairs report.
The consumer industry source is reporting that a worker at the car wash says he was manning a Grand Cherokee when it suddenly accelerated on its own, taking off onto a major highway and crashing through a bus shelter before coming to a stop.
Luckily, there were no injuries in this incident. But there have been some reports of more tragic outcomes, like the death of a Connecticut man killed in 2006 when a Grand Cherokee suddenly accelerated at a car wash.
