It seems like an Australian Jeep campaign where participants could win a chance to buy a Cherokee for $10,000 has pissed a few people off.

The campaign, marketed as the “World’s Most Remote Dealership” competition, was centered on the first 10 callers to a phone number revealed at 9 a.m. Australian Eastern Standard Time via a phone app required to participate.

The first ten callers then would be required to travel to the remote dealership to claim their $10,000 Cherokee.

However, it appears that the number was leaked early on a forum, unbeknown to some of the 30,000 who entered the contest, according to a Mashable report. Some participants claimed that even when 9 a.m. rolled around, they couldn’t access the app, while others noted they never could connect to the number.

A lot of those participants took to Facebook to protest their anger to Jeep.

Following the potential number leak, Jeep Australia noted on its official Facebook page that all participants would be given the same opportunity based on the time the number would appear. However, the Australian arm of Jeep still hasn’t addressed many of the other complaints posted on its FB page.

Somehow I get the feeling that this won’t be the last we hear on this one.
