Motor Trend’s Battle of the Beaters Is Cheap-Jeepin’ Fun!

Modern day off-roaders are expensive. Whether you’re looking for a Jeep, a pickup truck, an SUV, or even a purpose-built machine like a Polaris Rzr, going off-roading generally requires mucho dinero.
But what if? What if a little mechanical knowledge, elbow grease, and a small-time budget could buy you something simple but fun? That’s what the guys from Motor Trend‘s “Dirt Every Day” will show you in their Cheap Truck Challenge 2016 below.
The challenge involves two different teams buying two different vehicles. One team opts for a Jeep Liberty, and another for an iconic K5 Blazer. Both teams have very different approaches to “fixing up” their rides, as well as how to make them off-road capable on a budget. In the end, both teams spend around $4,000 buying and fixing up their beaters. And both surely look like a blast.
I won’t spoil the video for ya, so I won’t tell you who won the challenge. But don’t be afraid to invest 26 minutes of your life watching this video. It’s totally worth it!
