The JK is a wonderful piece of engineering that is one of the most capable factory-built off-road machines in the entire world. But that ability comes from a decades-long legacy of improvement. Sometimes it is nice to look back at where the JK came from, just as a reminder of how far we have come. Also, because old Willys Jeeps are awesome, and I’ll take any excuse I can find to write about one. Plus it’s close to the 4th of July, so double whammy, apple pie, woo hoo America!

HotroddingAmerica.com got a chance to see an original 1946 CJ2A in pristine condition, and they took a whole handful of photos of the classic machine. The Jeep looks to be 100-percent factory fresh, and according to a piece over on BangShift, the owner claims that nearly every single piece of this CJ2A is original, down to most of the nuts and bolts.

If you ever wanted to buy me a present, just for being a cool guy and bringing you awesome photos, this would be a perfect choice. Hell, I would even drive it to your house one day just to say thanks for being so darn nice and thoughtful. Anyways, click the gallery below to see all the photos, and then if you want to read another story about why these old Jeeps are awesome, head over to BangShift and check out their piece about this hunk of American metal.
