Here’s a Closer Look at the Jeep Crew Chief 715 Concept

Of all the concepts unveiled during the Easter Jeep Safari, one had universal love over all others: the Crew Chief 715. Being one of the first crew cab trucks done by Jeep, this Wrangler-based concept incorporates a lot of things that Jeep enthusiasts have always wanted.

The stand out feature here is the styling. Featuring the Kaiser front end and bold “Jeep” lettering on the unique truck bed, it almost gives this Jeep an old military feel; as do the tall skinny wheels. It also sports a canvas top, and a rugged military spec interior, as you would expect.

The 715 features the 3.6 V6 that we are already familiar with, and also an extended wheelbase that’s nearly 2-feet longer than what you’d find in a 4-door Wrangler. Given that it is based on the Wrangler and uses existing running gear, this could very well be a glimpse of a future product from Jeep, especially considering that FCA head honcho Sergio Marchionne said he hopes to bolster up the truck and SUV side of FCA’s operations.
