Don’t you just love how Jeeps bring people together? And sometimes, it’s in ways you’d least expect.

Take, for example, the story below of a motorcycle group in Florida who invested their own time and money to repair an elderly man’s Wrangler that was stolen from him, then found later, all beat up. The bikers’ worked to get the Jeep back up and running, and spent thousands of dollars in full body repairs and a paint job.

The entire operation was prompted when one of the bikers saw a WFLA News report about the incident.

“I saw the news come on, and just the expression on his face, he looked devastated. and I wanted to show him: you can trust some people,” said Richard Hitchcock, of Bay Area Riders. “I also wanted to show the community that bikers are good people. We try to help the community.”

The elderly man, Bill Gebhardt, said he’ll never forget the kind gesture shown to him and his Jeep by the Bay Area Riders.

“It’s gonna feel good, every time I start it, to know what all has happened, took place,” Gebhardt said. “That’s going to make it run good.”
