Years of anticipation make it seem like the JL Wrangler has been with us forever. But the truth is, it’s only been at dealerships for a few months. Still, at SEMA, modified Wranglers were out in force in Las Vegas. And at this year’s show, aftermarket companies were out in force showing what they’ve got in store for the newest Jeep. Spoiler alert: The results are impressive.

Take this 2018 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Stock from the Toledo plant, the Rubicon can already go just about anywhere. But this 4×4, modified by Daystar Products, takes it even farther. Daystar has been modifying Jeeps since the 1970s, and it doesn’t look like they needed much time to get up to speed on the latest Wrangler.

This Rubicon is rocking a two-inch lift kit with Kevlar-infused polyurethane spacers. It has new lower control arms, extended bump stops, and sway bar links. New Method 301 wheels have freshly-mounted 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tires. With Daystar’s lift kit, this Rubicon is still NTEA FMVSS 126 compliant, which means that it maintains its stability control. That’s pretty impressive.

But that’s not all, folks. This lifted JL has Daystar Scorpion shocks and shock guards, Cam Can trail boxes (for liquid and solid supplies), and VooDoo off-road ropes to help get you out of trouble. And to tie it all together, this Jeep comes with one hell of a red, white, and blue wrap job. Because the only thing more American than a Jeep off-road is one wrapped in an American flag.

Daystar has been outfitting Jeeps for a long time. And by the looks of things, it’s already got the JL’s number. Even at SEMA, this Rubicon jumps out. We’re looking forward to seeing more of what Daystar has in store for the new Jeep in the future.
