JCR Manche is a Pure Custom-built Jeep Masterpiece

By -

Behold, our new favorite Jeep build. But the JCR Manche isn’t just some gussied up SEMA queen, either.

These days, folks that build custom Jeeps are clamoring at the bit to document them online. But months after completing this amazing project known as JCR Manche, the guys at JCR Off-Road realized that they hadn’t made a video discussing it. And that’s obviously a crying shame. Thus, this gift – 30 minutes of glorious deets on perhaps the coolest Jeep Commanche build you’ll ever lay eyes on.

The ’89 model Commanche was built specifically for last year’s SEMA show. And needless to say, it’s turned a few heads since then. Credit a ’97 Cherokee front clip and stunning orange paint, which gives this old pickup a more modern appearance. And with a TJ transmission and the legendary 4.0 under the hood, you know it’s dead reliable, too.

When they found the JCR Manche in North Carolina, the truck already had its newer front clip and some questionable upgrades. So they blew it apart and spent a month just on bodywork. And then another month on paint. Multiple more months were spent on the countless cool details, including a Mustang Mach 1 scoop mounted to the stock steel hood.

And seeing as how JCR is a Jeep parts dealer, you know they had to throw their entire catalog at the JCR Manche. This includes stuff like the front and rear bumpers, rock sliders, gas tank skid, tire carrier, and roof rack. Goodies underneath abound, including a Teraflex Tera60 front axle and CRD 60 rear, 4.88 gears, and ARB lockers.

With fresh internals and a Boosted Technologies M90 supercharger, the JCR Manche makes more than enough power. Even to turn those giant Nitto 37×12.5×17 Trail Grappler M/Ts. But perhaps the best thing about this build is that it isn’t just some SEMA queen. This is one Commanche that walks the walk, too.
